April 24, 2026
On April 22, 2026, the Civil-Military Innovation Institute (CMI2) took part in Clay County’s third annual Make Clay County Shine Highway Clean Up Days event.
The Make It Shine brings people across the county together to clean up, including the Clay Board of Education, Clay Health Department, Clay Family Support Center, Rail Explorers, Georgetown University Berkley School of Nursing, Town of Clay, Clay Solid Waste Authority, and the West Virginia Division of Highways Clay County Headquarters.
Our team looks forward to this annual volunteer effort.

It’s a simple idea, but it makes a real difference. For CMI2, it’s also a great way to stay connected to the people and places we care about. We spent the day clearing debris and doing our part to help keep Clay County looking its best.
Special thanks to Tee Davis for her continued leadership in ensuring the Make It Shine efforts happen each year, and for wrangling everyone together. Our entire team is glad to be part of it and looks forward to doing it again next year. At CMI2, we’re proud to be local.
